Bigelow man loses finger trying to defend himself

On December 31, 2019 at approximately 2:50 PM Deputies responded to 97 Montgomery Lane in Williams Jct. area, to a disturbance call.

Upon arrival they found 56-year-old Darryl Kennedy of Bigelow, Mr. Kennedy had his finger cut off.

Kennedy stated that he and his son had went there to retrieve some of their tools, they had been there working on James Daniels (52 years old) property. Kennedy stated that upon arrival, Daniels just came out of his house swinging a shovel. Trying to defend himself, Kennedy tried grabbing and punching Daniels, the two men fell to the floor and that's when Kennedy noticed that his right ring finger had been cut off at the knuckle.

Daniels was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Battery, a Class B Felony. Daniels is out on bond awaiting trial.
