Traffic stop leads to Marijuana arrest

On January 5, 2017 at approximately 1:46 PM Sgt. Keenan Carter with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop on vehicle that failed to use its turn signal while turning onto Union Valley road from HWY 9/10. The driver Dennis Hodge had a suspended driver’s license, also a strong odor of Marijuana was coming from the vehicle. The driver and the passenger in the front seat admitted to having marijuana in the car. Melissa Mcalister stated the Marijuana was hers and that it was under her seat. Mcalister 40 years old of #27 Robyn Ln., Perryville was arrested and transported to the Perry County Detention Center, where she will await a bond hearing.
