Broken tail light leads to drug arrest

On August 30, 2013 at approximately 1:40 AM Deputy Dalton Tyner made traffic stop on a white Ford Ranger pick-up for having a broken tail light.  The driver Jeffery Carroll (40 years old, w/m) of North Little Rock was driving without a license.  When Deputy Tyner asked him to get out of the vehicle, Mr. Carroll was holding his waistband and was acting very nervous.  Deputy Tyner then asked him what he was holding in his waistband; Mr. Carroll told the Deputy that it was a “pot” pipe. Deputy Tyner placed Mr. Carroll under arrest for Driving without a license and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  After placing Mr. Carroll under arrest Deputy Tyner found meth and marijuana in Mr. Carroll’s pocket.  During further search Deputy Tyner found more drug paraphernalia in the front seat of Mr. Carroll’s vehicle.   Mr. Carroll was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamines), a class D Felony; Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana), a class A Misdemeanor; and four counts of Drug Paraphernalia, three class D Felonies and one class A Misdemeanor.  Mr. Carroll is being held in the Perry County Detention Center awaiting to see Judge Gill for a bond hearing.
